I read the same article and have been listening to “Messiah” since. I also took the article’s suggestion and watched the Academy of Ancient Music performance on You Tube Music. Wonderful.

I love Voces8, and I imagine pairing them with the Academy of Ancient Music would be beautiful. Thanks, Harry.

I just read this again. So comforting and brilliant. Thank you, Gary.

I do believe “ There is a world within the world”.

We can strive to shine a light in our own world. Years ago, two little neighborhood girls left a wilted bunch of little garden flowers at our front door. With it a note saying we learned about random acts of kindness today in School. I pray for that world again.

Thank you so much for this grounded and hope – filled post. I needed to read this tonight. And I want to start envisioning a future where there is light and beauty and care for the least of these in our country.

Gary, thank you so much for that post. I am a musician, and I had not considered going to the “Messiah” for solace in this most depressing time for our country. I will go there for hope. Thank you for all that you bring to us. I am one of the “elderly” who doesn’t want to live the ending of my life in darkness and hate. I will look for light and hope and love.

Gary, this is so moving. Brought tears to my eyes this morning. I will be sure to make space for the Messiah soon. Tanner’s painting The Annunciation, which normally lives at the Philadelphia Museum of art, is currently on view here in Houston at the The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in their “Living with the Gods“ show (which is incredible). I saw it there the other day and it is stunning. The Archangel bearing its message as a beam of light is a brilliant and universal idea.

I would love to experience that exhibit, Rainey. And I agree about the beauty and brilliance of Tanner's painting -- universal and uniting.
