What a beautiful meditation on coming home to Christ, not only for soldiers, but for each of us. Thank you, Rev Gary Jones. Out of the park, as usual! Thank you…

Thank you for these beautiful and simple words about the prodigal son and how we are all prodigals. All yearning to return home as we walk our mortal lives towards our loving and faithful heavenly Father in and our eternal home with Him.

Beautiful, just beautiful.

I hold The Parable of the Prodigal Son close to my heart. You see, my beautiful adult daughter is currently on her 3 estrangement from me. I never know why or for how long. It was almost 2 years at the longest. My heart was broken. I did things and pleaded and begged in desperation the first time. Now, I’m waiting patiently and I know when the time is right, she will come back. When she did come home, I welcomed her with open arms. I did not ask her why, and I was not at all angry. Like the first 2 times I welcomed her home, I will again, and I will Give Thanks once again To God for leading my sweet beautiful daughter back into my waiting arms.

So, Thank You Father Jones for reminding our soldiers how much we miss them when they are away, and how grateful we are when they return home. Open door Open arms policy at my house every day.
